Offsetting Negative Environmental Impacts Through Sustainable Forest Management

Last week, as part of a collaboration with Woodbois, Arthur travelled to Liberia, in the last large forest area in the Upper Guinean region.

His mission was to assess the feasibility of a strategy for offsetting the negative environmental and biodiversity impacts of a mining activity through the implementation and practice of a sustainable forest management system in the surrounding area.

Industrial and artisanal mining activities have negative environmental and biodiversity impacts that need to be mitigated and compensated for, particularly in places such as Liberia, which is home to most of the species belonging to the Guinean Forest Biodiversity Hotspot in West Africa.

Compensate biodiversity impact is a key challenge for a corporate company and Eticwood is happy to help its clients on their way to sustainability.
