A Watchful Eye in the Sky
Design of forestry and agroforestry projects often requires a good field knowledge. Field missions can be time-consuming and expensive while satellite images are widely available online but sometimes difficult to use operatively.
This is why Lola, Arthur and Robin, our junior collaborators, developed a methodology based on an OpenSource GIS Program (Qgis) to easily download, analyze and classify different satellite images such as Landsat or Sentinel. This newly acquired skill will be implemented in our current projects but could also be included in our future contracts.
